Sadly, I’ve had commitments this week, that have necessitated driving to work and my opportunities for social observation, not to mention riveting games of “source the smell,” have been greatly reduced.
As a result, I haven’t been able to come up with anything worth posting all week. But then my coworker came to the rescue by telling me about some arts events in our city. Whenever someone says the words “arts community” my mind always goes straight to the crap that is modern art, and this particular conversation brought back memories of my trip to the National Gallery last winter.
We went to see Ron Mueck’s larger than life baby (an anomaly in modern art as it is distinctly not crap-like,) but we had to wade through the muck to get to it.
